Google Merchant Center Image Checker

Check your product image against Google Merchant Center requirements before submitting your feed. Analysis runs locally in your browser, then groups blockers, warnings, and manual-review items into one preflight view.

Privacy
Your image is decoded and analyzed on-device. There is no upload pipeline or backend dependency in this tool.
What it checks
Format, dimensions, file size, pixel count ceiling, apparel-specific minimums, border risk, text-overlay risk, and blur risk.
What it does not guarantee
It cannot replace Google Merchant Center review or feed-level validation. Manual review is still required before submitting your product data.

Google image requirements

The core rules this checker is built around

This page focuses on the most common Google Merchant Center image disapproval triggers: dimension minimums, file size limits, prohibited overlays, and product framing.

Dimension requirements
Non-apparel products need at least 100 × 100 px. Apparel needs 250 × 250 px. Google recommends 1,500 × 1,500 px for best performance across all surfaces.
File size and pixel limits
Images must be under 16 MB and under 64 megapixels total. The checker validates both limits so oversized files are caught before submission.
No overlays or watermarks
Product images must not include promotional text, watermarks, retailer logos, calls to action, barcodes, or QR codes. The checker estimates overlay risk.
Product fills the frame
Google expects the product to fill 75–90% of the image, centered and recognizable at thumbnail size. Excessive padding or whitespace may trigger a disapproval.

How it works

Browser-side Google Merchant image preflight

  1. 1

Upload one JPEG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, BMP, or non-animated GIF file.

  2. 2

QuickPrepMedia decodes the image locally in your browser. No file is sent to a server.

  3. 3

Basic checks run first for format, readability, dimensions, file size, and pixel count.

  4. 4

Visual analysis runs next for border risk, text-overlay risk, and blur risk.

  5. 5

The page groups blockers, warnings, passes, and manual-review items so you can fix the highest-risk issues first.
