Convert SVG to JPG on the background colour you choose
Add SVG files or paste SVG code, set the size, the background colour and the JPG quality, and get JPGs back. It all happens in your own browser, so no file is uploaded.
- Runs in your browser — no upload
- Free, no sign-up
- Takes SVG files or pasted code
- 20 files per batch, 20 MB each
Size
1× is the size the SVG states for itself. Each file is converted with the settings in force when it starts, so a change here also applies to files still waiting in the list.
Scale
Any number above 0, such as 1.5 or 0.5.
Or set one side in pixels
Set a width or a height; the other side follows each SVG's own shape.
Largest output: 16384 px on a side, and no more than 8192 × 8192 px in area.
JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas of the SVG are filled with this colour.
Quality
85Higher keeps edges and fine lines crisper; lower makes a smaller file.

How to convert SVG to JPG
Set size, background and quality
Choose a scale or a width in pixels, then the colour that fills the SVG's transparent areas (white to start with) and the JPG quality. 85 suits most graphics.
Add your SVGs
Drop in up to 20 SVG files, or paste SVG code under Paste code. Each one is painted onto the background colour at the size you set.
Save the JPGs
Download each JPG, named with its pixel size, or the whole batch as a ZIP. Change a setting afterwards and the list offers to redo the finished files with it.
SVG to JPG sizes for web and print
For a JPG, the larger widths at the bottom of the table are the ones that matter: web pages, slides, documents and prints, where an opaque image on a known background is fine. The small icon rows usually need PNG's transparency instead. None of these widths is a site's rule. Pick a row and the converter uses its width.
| Width | Common use | Apply this width to the converter |
|---|---|---|
| 16 px | The classic favicon size for a browser tab. | |
| 32 px | A favicon for high-density screens and bookmark bars. | |
| 48 px | A larger favicon size often bundled for desktop shortcuts. | |
| 180 px | The usual size of an iPhone and iPad home-screen icon (apple-touch-icon). | |
| 192 px | A common web-app manifest icon, shown on Android home screens. | |
| 512 px | The large web-app manifest icon, also used for install and splash screens. | |
| 1024 px | A sharp logo or illustration for web pages, documents and slides. | |
| 2048 px | Graphics for high-density displays and small prints. | |
| 4096 px | Large prints and banners. Only an SVG more than four times as tall as it is wide goes over the size limit at this width. |

4096 px
Large prints and banners. Only an SVG more than four times as tall as it is wide goes over the size limit at this width.
Heights are not listed because each SVG keeps its own shape: a square icon comes out square, and a logo twice as wide as it is tall comes out half as tall as the width.
What changes when an SVG becomes a JPG
A JPG cannot store transparency, and it gives up a little detail to stay small. Those two facts, and the fonts the drawing uses, decide how the result looks.
Transparent SVGFilled JPG The background fills the gaps
Wherever the SVG is transparent, a JPG still needs a colour. The converter paints your background colour first and draws the SVG on top of it; without that step, a browser fills those areas with black.
Match the background to the page, slide or listing the JPG will sit on, so soft edges and shadows blend in.
High qualityLow quality Quality and flat colour
JPG compression is built for photographs. On the flat colours and hard edges most SVGs are made of, it leaves faint smudges around lines and letters, and more of them the lower the quality.
Keep the quality at 85 or higher for logos and text; for flat artwork that must be tiny, a PNG is often smaller and cleaner.
Font availableFallback font Lettering, fonts and compression
Letters are drawn at the moment of conversion, with a font installed here or embedded in the SVG; a web font the SVG only links to is not fetched, so a fallback font takes its place. The JPG compression then works on the drawn letters, and thin strokes and small text are where its smudges show first.
Outline the text before exporting the SVG, and raise the quality when the JPG carries small lettering.
Getting a clean JPG from an SVG
Every JPG is opaque, so the setting that matters most is the background colour. It starts as white. If the JPG goes onto a coloured page, slide or product listing, set that colour here, so soft edges and shadows blend into it rather than into a white halo.
If the transparent areas should stay transparent, for a logo that sits on backgrounds of different colours, JPG is the wrong format: convert the SVG to PNG instead, which keeps them.
The quality slider trades file size against those smudges around edges. To land under a specific upload limit rather than guess at the slider, convert at a high quality and then compress the JPG to a target file size.
Text is the other common surprise. Fonts installed on this device and fonts embedded in the SVG are used, but a font linked from the web is not loaded, so the lettering can change. Outline the text before exporting the SVG whenever it has to match.
Limits worth knowing
- Input: SVG files or pasted SVG code, at most 20 per batch and 20 MB per file or paste.
- Output: a JPG up to 16384 px on a side and 8192 × 8192 px in area. A larger size is refused before the background is even painted.
- No transparency, no animation: transparent areas take the background colour, and an animated SVG becomes one still moment chosen by the browser.
- Chrome, Edge and Safari will not export a JPG from an SVG that holds HTML (a foreignObject element), whatever the background or quality; Firefox will.
SVG to JPG FAQ
Is my SVG uploaded anywhere when I convert it to JPG?
No. The background fill, the drawing and the JPG compression all run in this browser tab, so neither the file nor any pasted code goes to a server. What the page downloads while you work is its own code, such as the ZIP library on your first ZIP download, never your artwork. Images and fonts the SVG links to are not requested at all.
How do I convert SVG to JPG with a white background?
White is the default, so the transparent areas of the SVG come out white without any change. For another colour, pick it with the swatch or type its hex value in the settings above the file area. Files already converted can then be redone with the new colour from the list.
What JPG quality should I use for an SVG?
85, the default, suits most graphics. Logos, line art and small text show compression smudges sooner than photographs do, so use 90 or more for them. Lower settings give smaller files with visibly softer edges.
Can I make a large, high-resolution JPG from an SVG?
Yes. Set the width you need in pixels, or a scale such as 4×. The SVG is redrawn at that size rather than stretched, so edges stay sharp up to 16384 px on a side and 8192 × 8192 px in area. A large JPG can be heavy: lower the quality a little, or compress it to a target file size afterwards, rather than converting at a smaller size.
Why does the lettering look wrong in my JPG?
Either the font is missing or the letters are smudged. A missing font: the SVG names one this device does not have and does not embed it, and linked web fonts are not loaded during conversion, so the browser substitutes another. Embed the font or outline the text in your design app, then convert again. The right font with blurry edges is JPG compression: raise the quality.
What does the error about HTML content mean?
It means the SVG embeds HTML through a foreignObject element; some diagram apps export their text labels this way. Changing the background colour or the quality does not help: Chrome, Edge and Safari refuse to save any drawing that contains HTML. Convert the file in Firefox, which allows it, or replace that part with plain SVG text and shapes and add the file again.
Can I convert SVG code instead of a file?
Yes. Open Paste code, paste the markup and choose Convert code; up to 20 MB of code at a time. Code copied from a web page's HTML works too, even without the xmlns attribute: the converter finds the SVG inside it and completes it before drawing.
