eBay Listing Photo Checker

Check your listing photo against eBay's image requirements before upload. Analysis runs locally in your browser, then groups blockers, warnings, and manual-review items into one preflight view.

Privacy
Your image is decoded and analyzed on-device. There is no upload pipeline or backend dependency in this tool.
What it checks
Readable image data, eBay-supported upload formats, 500 px minimum, 1,600 px zoom threshold, 12 MB file size limit, animated GIF rejection, square format suitability, sharpness, watermark risk, and border risk.
What it does not guarantee
It cannot confirm image ownership, background color compliance, stock photo detection, product framing, or whether props are excluded. Manual review is still required before publish.

eBay image requirements

The core rules this checker is built around

eBay combines hard upload requirements (format, minimum size, file size limit) with strong recommendations (zoom threshold, square format, no overlays). This checker keeps those separate so recommendations are not presented like upload blockers.

500 px minimum, 1,600 px for zoom
eBay requires at least 500 px on the longest side. Images with the longest side at least 1,600 px enable the zoom/enlarge feature, which eBay strongly recommends.
Square images for gallery
eBay search results and gallery thumbnails render as squares. Non-square images are padded or cropped, which can reduce visual impact in search results.
No watermarks or promotional text
eBay explicitly prohibits watermarks, seller logos, and promotional text like "FREE SHIPPING" on listing images. Borders and frames are also not allowed.
Policy items stay manual
White background recommendation, image ownership, stock photo detection, product framing, and prop exclusion still require seller review.

How it works

Browser-side eBay image preflight

  1. 1

Upload one JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, or BMP file. JPEG is the most reliable format for eBay listings.

  2. 2

QuickPrepMedia decodes the image locally in your browser. No file is sent to a server.

  3. 3

Basic checks run first for readability, supported format, minimum dimensions, file size limit, and animated GIF rejection.

  4. 4

Visual analysis runs next for zoom readiness, square format suitability, sharpness, watermark risk, and border risk.

  5. 5

The page groups blockers, warnings, passes, and manual-review items so you can fix the highest-risk issues first.
