Print size pack

Turn your artwork into a file for every common print size, each at the DPI you choose and named after your image. Never upscaled, and nothing is uploaded.

  • No upload — runs in your browser
  • Free, no account
  • JPEG, PNG, WebP and TIFF
  • Up to 5 images of 100 MP
  • 300 DPI by default, never upscaled
  1. Add your artwork

Drop in up to 5 images, one per aspect ratio if you have them. Each image's size is read from its file before it is opened.

  2. Choose the sizes

Pick the size families and the DPI, and how each family is cropped or fitted. The plan shows every file's pixels and real DPI before anything is made.

  3. Create and download

Create the files one at a time, then download them as one ZIP with a folder per size family, ready to deliver or sell.

Our own selection of common print sizes for wall art and printables, with the pixels each one needs. These are not sizes that any marketplace names or recommends.

A printable sold as a digital download usually comes in several sizes, so each buyer can print it to fit their frame. Every size needs its own file, cut to its aspect ratio and with enough pixels for its inches.

The sizes are grouped by aspect ratio into families, and each family is made from one of your images: the one whose ratio matches, or else the largest. You choose whether a family is cropped, and where, or fitted on white.

A size is never upscaled. When your image has too few pixels for a size at the DPI you chose, that size is made at your image's own resolution and says so. Below 150 DPI it is marked as not recommended, and an upscaler can make a larger image to start from.

A full set of sizes is a lot of files. Download them all as one ZIP with a folder per size family, or add them to the download pack to bundle them with your other files.

Selling on Etsy? A digital listing holds only a few files, so a full set of sizes usually goes into ZIP files. Choose Etsy as the destination here to keep each file within Etsy's limits, and in the download pack to plan the files a listing can deliver.

Limits

  • Accepted: JPEG, PNG, WebP. TIFF too, read more slowly where your browser can't open them itself.
  • Up to 5 images, each up to 100 MP. This limit is a cautious guess at what a phone can hold, until more devices have been tested.
  • Some browsers, Safari on iPhone and iPad in particular, can only draw smaller images. There the largest sizes are offered at a lower DPI, labelled as such, and a computer's browser makes them at the DPI you chose.
  • Files are saved in sRGB without an embedded colour profile, with their DPI written into the file.

Print size pack FAQ

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Your images are read, cropped and saved in your browser, and they are never uploaded, stored or sent anywhere. The page fetches parts of its own code from this site as you use it; your images are never part of that.

Which print sizes does it make?

Common print sizes in the 2:3, 3:4, 4:5, 11:14, and 5:7 aspect ratios, plus the ISO A sizes from A5 to A1. They are our own selection of what sellers of printables usually offer, not sizes a marketplace names. Turn off any family or size you don't sell.

What DPI should a printable be?

As a rule of thumb, 300 DPI suits a print viewed up close, and from 150 DPI a print is often acceptable, especially a large one seen from a distance. A size below 150 DPI is marked as not recommended.

Why is a size made below the DPI I chose?

Because your image has too few pixels for it. The tool never upscales, since stretching an image adds no detail and only makes the file larger. That size is made at your image's own resolution, and the plan shows the DPI it gets.

Why does my iPhone offer a lower DPI for the largest sizes?

Safari on iPhone and iPad can only draw images up to a certain area, smaller on older versions. When a size is larger than that, it is offered at the highest DPI that fits, and the plan says so. A computer's browser makes the same size at the DPI you chose.

Is the DPI saved in the file?

Yes. Each file records the DPI it was made at, so an app that shows print sizes opens it at its size in inches or millimetres rather than at a screen resolution.

How are the files named?

After your image, its size and its DPI. Characters that some computers don't allow in a file name are replaced, and no two files get the same name.

With Etsy as the destination, will the files fit its file size limit?

Etsy allows files of up to 20 MB. With Etsy chosen, the option to keep each file under that limit is on: a JPEG over it is saved again at a lower quality, no lower than 80% and in at most 6 tries. A file that is still over, or a PNG over it, is marked so that you can pick a lower DPI, JPEG or another size. With no destination, every file is saved once at full quality, whatever its size.

How are the files named for Etsy?

With Etsy as the destination, the names use only the letters, numbers, hyphens, underscores and dots that Etsy's file names allow, within 70 characters, so a space becomes a hyphen and an accented letter loses its accent.

Add your artwork, choose the sizes and download every file. Your images never leave this device.
